Fittwell Health offers Personal Training to individual clients and sometimes in group situations. These sessions usually last an hour and can be carried out at your own home or outdoor environment.

What Is Personal Training?

Personal Training should be carried out by an individual qualified to instruct and train clients, usually in a one-on-one situation in the performance of safe and appropriate exercise, in a focused effort to achieve the client’s Health & Fitness goals.

The age-old adage about Personal Training being half art half science is nowhere truer than in personal training. Terry Austin aims to re-educate those who personal train with him by dispelling the endless jargon and myths continuously absorbed from the media and applying established science. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology (the study of movement), nutrition and the psychological aspects of exercise is utilized in creating safe, yet interesting ways to meet individual needs. This is through communication, encouragement, motivation and education in a personalized way; treating individuals as people, not patients or business clients.

What health & fitness goals can be met with a Fittwell Health Personal Trainer?

Articles on how the science works behind these health and fitness improvements, along with other relevant information, will be produced on this website monthly.

GP Exercise Referral Personal Training

Some clients will need to be referred to their GP for an official referral to take place to Fittwell Health before embarking on an exercise programme. This will be established by Terry Austin during the initial consultation and via the Fittwell Health PAR-Q (‘Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire’ – a simple 3 page document to be completed by each client prior to undergoing personal training.)

Some clients will already have been told to ‘do more exercise’ by their GP and are specifically seeking exercise guidance for health reasons. This is a specialist field of Terry Austin and further information can be found on the GP Referrals

COST OF PERSONAL TRAINING = £35 / hour
